Houston authorities are probing the shooting death of a 49-year-old man whose body was discovered early Monday morning at an apartment complex on Elmside Drive, as reported by the City of Houston official news site. The victim, whose identity is being withheld until relatives are notified, was found at approximately 7 a.m. at the 3030 Elmside Drive address, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
Detectives from the HPD Homicide Division, including Sergeant M. Cass and Detective J. Wallschlaeger, are currently looking into the case. Residents of the complex reported to authorities hearing a disturbance followed by a gunshot on the previous evening around 10 p.m. However, the identity of a possible perpetrator or the motive behind the shooting remains unclear at this juncture.
First responders from the Houston Fire Department pronounced the man deceased at the scene, and the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences has taken over the task of identifying the deceased.
