A young girl was taken to the hospital after being struck by a tree branch in Hudson, Massachusetts, as she was boarding her school bus on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. in the area of Falls Brook Road and Laurel Drive. The girl, estimated to be around 10 or 11 years old, had just stepped out of a car and was about to board the bus when the limb fell, police said, as per Boston 25 News.
The Quinn Middle School student suffered minor injuries from the falling tree limb. The Hudson Police Department, upon responding to the emergency, facilitated the child's transport to a Marlboro hospital for treatment. Details regarding her condition have not been disclosed, but the injuries were described as "minor", according to the WHDH report.
Hudson schools had a delayed opening by two hours on the morning of the incident due to a recent snowstorm, which may have contributed to the weakening of tree limbs across the state. The same snowstorm is to blame for a rash of reports detailing downed trees and snapped branches that were burdened by the heavy snow. In Dracut, a similar event was captured by a resident's Ring camera, per Boston 25 News.
