
The Los Angeles Fire Department conducted a grim water rescue operation in Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park. LAFD units were dispatched to the scene at 25999 S Normandie Avenue following reports of a person in distress within the waters of Machado Lake. The recovery mission, detailed in an LAFD alert, unfolded in the afternoon with rescue personnel locating a deceased individual.
The incident, cataloged by the LAFD as INC#1132, occurred at approximately 4:10 p.m. First responders arrived promptly at the site, where, despite their swift efforts, there was no one to save. "The victim remains at the scene (no hospital transport)," stated the LAFD alert. There were no additional casualties reported in the unfortunate event.
Details about the victim and the circumstances leading to their death are scant. Authorities have not released further information pending notification of next of kin. The case has since been handed over to the LAPD Harbor Division, as indicated in the initial alert.
