The Irvine Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a pair suspected of committing credit card fraud. According to the department, on the last day of the past year, a woman found that her purse along with her wallet containing her credit cards had been stolen from her car. The theft has since spiraled into a spending spree, with the suspects racking up more than $900 on the victim's credit cards. The unauthorized purchases were made at various stores, including several Home Depot locations.

Investigators released surveillance footage on Wednesday in hopes that someone recognizes the culprits. The video, which was posted to the Irvine Police Department's Facebook page, shows a duo whom police believe are connected to the theft and the ensuing fraudulent transactions. “#WANTEDWEDNESDAY - This duo is suspected of using the victim’s credit cards to make over $900 in purchases at multiple locations,” the department stated in a social media post.

Police are urging anyone with information that could lead to an identification to come forward. Individuals who can assist are instructed to contact Detective Amena by email at [email protected]
