A Cobb County judge has cracked the seal on the tawdry divorce case of special prosecutor Nathan Wade. As the drama entangles Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who's leading the charge in the election interference case against former President Donald Trump, as FOX 5 Atlanta reported. The call for transparency comes amidst swirling allegations of an affair between Willis and Wade, adding another twist in the saga that bleeds into the high-stakes political battleground.
With the claim of amorality hanging in the backdrop, Judge Henry Thompson stipulated that prior sealed proceedings were now to be unsealed due to procedural missteps, Willis however won't be taking the stand just yet her deposition was delayed as the judge postponed her testimony scheduled for Jan. 23, hence a gap of nine days from Wade's expected financial grilling on the stand, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. In Thompson's courtroom, absent were the figures at its center—neither Willis, Wade, nor Wade's estranged wife Joycelyn—left only to the letter of the law and the documents about to flood the public domain.
While Willis has stood by her hiring of Wade, who lacks extensive prosecutorial prowess, she has not outright refuted the whispers of a romantic entanglement, in the meantime, she's dismissed attempts to draw her into the divorce proceedings as a stonewall tactic against her investigative pursuits into potential election meddling, as AP News reported. The accusations have marred the gravity of the case against the former president, as 18 of his associates are embroiled in the attempt to flip the script of his 2020 election loss in Georgia.
The revealing of the Wade divorce case files didn't point to a smoking gun directly implicating an affair, only adding to the cloud of conjecture that hovers over the ethics of the case, it's a twist in the tale that promises more questions than answers even as the judge put Willis's deposition on ice, choosing to hold back on the final say whether she'll need to take the stand in the Wade marital split, and not a peep on the affair allegations found its way into the unsealed court records—an absence that speaks volumes by its silence, according to AP News.
