Springfield State Troopers made an arrest last week after a hit-and-run incident led to the discovery of illegal firearms and narcotics in the offending driver's car. The incident happened on January 19 around 8:30 a.m. on Route 91 in Springfield, as reported by the Massachusetts State Police News.

Responding to the scene, Trooper Nicholas Brooks located the suspect's vehicle parked at a local Main Street eatery. The driver, identified as 34-year-old DARYN TACY of Keene, N.H., had significant damage on his vehicle, necessitating the call for a tow truck. Conducting an inventory of the car before towing, Trooper Brooks found a large pistol grip shotgun, as per Massachusetts State Police News.

TACY, who lacks the required firearms license, was promptly arrested. Continuing the search, troopers discovered about 12 grams of what was suspected to be Crack Cocaine, along with roughly 56 grams of a substance believed to be Cocaine stashed in a sandwich bag, raising the stakes in a case already fraught with legal perils.

The suspect was booked at the Springfield Barracks and faced arraignment at the Springfield District Court on several charges, including Improper Storage of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Trafficking in Cocaine, and Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony. After the vehicle got loaded onto the tow truck, it was when TACY was transported for booking, according to the details shared by the Springfield Barracks.
