The Kyle Police Department has successfully located 14-year-old Sophia Gonzalez, who had been reported missing since Wednesday afternoon. The teen was found safe, bringing a close to the immediate concerns for her wellbeing.
Earlier reports from CBS Austin provided details about Sophia's disappearance, stating she was last seen near Harwell Loop and Sanders in Kyle, around 4 p.m. on January 10. The search was immediately kicked off with the distribution of her description – 5'4" tall, weighing around 110 pounds, and sporting black hair with brown eyes.
Upon her disappearance, the local authorities had urged anyone with information to come forward and to contact the emergency services. The call to the community was clear, to be on the lookout for a young girl likely dressed in bright, blue multi-colored pajama pants, no longer wearing the braces as was pictured in images provided during her initial missing report.
Additional information from KVUE highlighted that Sophia was last seen in the vicinity of the Plum Creek neighborhood. This area became a focal point for the search and community efforts to find the missing youth.
The circumstances surrounding her brief disappearance and subsequent discovery have not been released at this time. The Kyle Police Department, however, did confirm that Sophia has been located and is safe, ending the ordeal that had gripped the local community with concern and prompted immediate action from law enforcement and the public alike.
