La Jolla is making waves in the wellness world with the introduction of Herbs to Acupuncture Integrative Wellness Clinic, a new enterprise aimed at bridging the gap between ancient Chinese medical practices and the needs of modern patients. Sydney Herbst, the clinic's proprietor, who recently earned her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, celebrated the establishment's grand opening, which now anchors itself at 7760 Fay Ave.
According to La Jolla Light, Herbst's practice specializes in a panoply of treatments including women’s health, autoimmune, digestive issues, and cosmetic enhancements; it utilizes a range of methodologies such as acupuncture, microneedling, herbal remedies, and nutritional therapy, these combined methods promise a revival of holistic health rooted in tradition while serving the modern clientele.
"Chinese medicine is not a quick fix," Herbst explained, a statement inferred from La Jolla Light. She believes in addressing the fundamental causes of illness as opposed to providing symptomatic relief, a distinction she frames in contrast to Western medicine’s approach to urgent care scenarios.
Further cementing her commitment to the craft, Herbst took to Instagram to profess her adoration for her newly chosen field, "When you are passionate about what you’re learning you’re going to succeed," Herbst said, reflecting on her academic journey that spanned over four years, 4,800 hours of clinical and didactic work; she credits her transformation to the invigorating environment at Pacific College.
The clinic has already found its place within the local community, having made a notable impression during a lively session at Birdstock Festival, an event which saw Herbst's supply of needles and business cards run out—a testament to the clinic's burgeoning popularity and Herbst's infectious enthusiasm for her work as she shared on Instagram, "It was a day full of poking people and I wouldn’t have it any other way." Her experience at the festival, marked by a palpable sense of gratitude, underscores a promising outlook for this new local venture.
