
In a tragic turn of events, a 75-year-old man was killed in a multi-car pileup on Friday evening in Lakeville, Massachusetts. The collision, which involved four vehicles, occurred on Main Street near Elliot Farm, around the time of 5:30 p.m.
Lakeville police responded to the scene of the crash which was promptly followed by a closure of the road to facilitate an urgent investigation. According to Boston 25 News, the elderly gentleman, whose identity remains undisclosed, was transported from the site of the crash with serious injuries but was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Footage from the scene revealed the aftermath with two significantly damaged vehicles bracketing the street, amongst the debris that was cast a short distance around. The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section has been called in to provide their expertise alongside the Lakeville police in dissecting the circumstances that led to this fatal moment.
While details surrounding the cause of the accident are still under wraps, the investigation by state and local police is expected to shed light on the sequence of events that ended with this loss of life.
