A tragic hit-and-run incident left a woman dead and a man in critical condition in Los Angeles.

The collision occurred late Sunday night when the victims, whose identities have not yet been released to the public, were crossing at a marked intersection on 94th Street at Vermont Avenue, they were struck by a silver 2023 Kia Sorento that continued plowing north without stopping, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles Fire Department responders, and the male victim was transported to a local hospital in dire straits. The hit-and-run driver discarded the vehicle near the intersection of Vermont Avenue and 90th Street before absconding, leaving the damaged Kia as a silent witness to the night's grim events.

Detectives are now turning to the community for aid, offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect, a program established by the City Council in 2015. Intended on curbing the plague of hit-and-runs, and residents with information are encouraged to contact Detectives Flannery or Moreno at the South Traffic Division or to remain anonymous, the LA Regional Crime Stoppers are an option as well.

The LAPD urges anyone with information to reach out.
