Two men from Long Beach got a heavy dose of reality, arrested for a crime spree in Irvine after a tip-off led police straight to them. According to the Irvine Police Department, Eric Charles Taylor, 36, and Henry Zaylen, 21, were caught stealing over-the-counter medication from a local CVS.
In a display of brazen audacity, the suspects were allegedly still loitering in the store when the cops arrived. They had just stashed stolen goods in their car and had come back for more. Found in their vehicle was a bounty of pilfered items, including over $950 of medicine and a pair of security keys belonging to the store, as stated in a Facebook post by the Irvine Police Department.
The duo's shoplifting stint earned them a swift trip to the Orange County Jail. They've both been booked on charges of Organized Retail Theft. The local police celebrated the sharp-eyed witness whose timely call played a pivotal role in apprehending the alleged thieves. "We appreciate the witness for contacting us when they saw this crime happen," according to the Irvine PD's Facebook page. "Being a great witness is just what the doctor ordered!"
