The Long Beach Police Department is investigating two separate stabbings that occurred within close proximity, leaving both victims hospitalized. In the incident, reported according to the LBPD blotter, a male victim sustained stab wounds to his upper body and was found at an out-of-city hospital after the attack in the 400 block of Shoreline Village Drive on January 5.
The first stabbing took place on January 4, when a female victim was approached by an individual on the 1300 block of E 7th Street after a brief verbal altercation that resulted in her being stabbed. The Long Beach Fire Department transported her to a local hospital with injuries declared non-life-threatening. By the time officers arrived, the suspect, described as an unknown male adult, had fled on foot.
No suspect information has been released in the first case, and the motive remains unclear, with officers unable to find a crime scene upon their response to the said location. The investigations for both cases are ongoing and the police seek the public's assistance in identifying any potential suspects or witnesses.
The LBPD is urging anyone with information about these incidents to come forward.
