Los Angeles, get ready for a bit of a soaker. The City of Angels is set to experience a string of rainy days, beginning this evening and carrying on through the start of the next week. According to the National Weather Service's extended forecast, a 50 percent chance of rain is expected after 10pm tonight, likely to deliver between a tenth and a quarter of an inch of precipitation to the parched streets of L.A.
Residents can expect the rain to pick up on Saturday, with an 80 percent chance of precipitation, and it appears that the wet weather will dump a fair amount between a quarter and half an inch throughout the day. Come Saturday night, the likelihood of rain lingers, mainly before the late hours, with additional light rainfall adding to the weekend's wet tally.
The forecast is not looking much brighter for Sunday or Monday either. Continuing the pattern, there's a 40 percent chance of additional showers during the day on Sunday and a 70 percent chance that the rain will resume later in the evening. As if on an unrelenting loop, Monday ushers in more of the same with a 90 percent chance of rain, mainly slotted for before the afternoon.
The wet spell is poised to ease somewhat early in the week. Residents may catch a glimpse of the sun breaking through the clouds by Tuesday, which is expected to be mostly sunny. However, the journey there, will be marked by potentially disruptive rains, testing the city's drains and perhaps, the patience of Angelenos weathering the persistent downpour.
