Firefighters in Reseda faced a fierce fight early Monday morning when a one-story home was rapidly engulfed in flames. The Los Angeles Fire Department was summoned to the 6400 block of Donna Avenue just before the break of dawn at 6:29 a.m., as the heavy fire was reported to be blazing through the residence. According to an LAFD alert found at lafd.org, crews arrived to find the structure well alight and quickly moved into offensive mode to tackle the inferno.
An army of 38 firefighters managed to knock down the fire in 22 minutes, deploying a transitional attack to forcefully suppress the fire from just outside and steadily advancing in. Included in the units were BC15 BC17 E100 E273 E293 E72 E73 E93 RA73 RA872 RA93 T73 T93. No civilians or firefighters were injured in the struggle against the flames, which was confirmed by a subsequent LAFD update.
Local news helicopters captured aerial footage of the scene, showing firefighters atop the home, puncturing the roof to ventilate the structure—a crucial tactic in controlling and quelling the blaze. This footage was aired around 6:45 AM, detailed in a report by KTLA which is available to watch at ktla.com.
The cause of the fire is still a mystery and subject to an ongoing investigation, as authorities will thoroughly sift through the ashes to determine the origin. Additional information and updates regarding the cause of the fire will be provided by the LAFD as the investigation continues to unfold.
