A fire that broke out in an upstairs unit of a Tujunga motel on Sunday morning was quickly subdued by Los Angeles firefighters. The blaze at the Galaxy Motel, located at 7260 W Foothill Bl, was reported at 10:38 a.m., according to LAFD Alert.
The LAFD team managed to effectively confine and fully extinguish the fire within just 16 minutes of their response. The effort prevented the fire from spreading into the motel's attic and causing further damage to the structure, as stated by the LAFD Knockdown report. The rapid action saw the first responding 14 firefighters come together in a seamless operation against the sudden threat.
Despite the swift control of the fire, one adult male was adversely affected by the incident. He suffered smoke inhalation and was attended to by LAFD paramedics, who subsequently transported him to an area hospital. The current condition of the man has not been disclosed, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The response "took just 16 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish the fire within the one upstairs motel room of fire origin," according to LAFD.
