Initially, the DeKalb County Police responded to reports of a shooting at the 3000 block of Panola Road, believing the man was shot by an unknown assailant. However, after interviewing the injured individual at the hospital, authorities corrected the initial account, declaring that the wound was "self-inflicted accidentally," as stated by Atlanta News First.
