Tragedy has struck twice in the Atlanta metro area with two separate shootings claiming lives and leaving communities searching for answers. In the upscale Buckhead neighborhood, police are hunting for a gunman after surveillance footage surfaced of a shooting that occurred outside of 2110 Peachtree Road NW last November. The suspect, seen wearing a beige shirt, is accused of shooting a 25-year-old victim in the right arm.
While the victim in Buckhead is recovering, a more harrowing event transpired in Gwinnett County, leaving three dead after a quadruple shooting at an apartment complex. According to Channel 2 Action News, a man opened fire at approximately 1 a.m. today, taking the lives of two women and a man before killing himself. The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Frank Wilburn Jr., was scheduled to appear in court the following day concerning a relationship matter with one of the survivors, Rosella Jones.
Authorities, responding to the Buckhead incident, rushed the victim to an area hospital and now appeal to the public for assistance. Suspected assailant from the incident is on the loose, and Atlanta police have called upon anyone with information to contact the Crime Stoppers tip line. A $2,000 reward is on offer for the brave soul who can step forward, potentially helping to close the net on the shooter running from the scene.
In Gwinnett County, facing unspeakable violence, it was reported by police that Rosella Jones' mother and a two-month-old girl were also inside the house during the bloodshed but were not injured. While they survived, the community is left mourning the lost lives of 52-year-old Corey Jones and his wife, 56-year-old Dana Farmer. The surviving Jones is now grappling not only with physical wounds but also the loss and the trauma of witnessing such calamity unfold before her eyes.
