A Massachusetts man is facing a mountain of charges after his May 2023 arrest by Johnston Police, Attorney General Peter F. Neronha announced. The charges against Yaran Drawbridge, 42, include 62 counts of possession of a large capacity magazine and illegal weapons along with multiple domestic-violence-related offenses. Drawbridge, from Holden, Mass., was charged in Providence County Superior Court last December, according to a press release.

Details emerged alleging the Johnston Police were called to a domestic disturbance on May 4, where they encountered the victim at a neighbor's residence. Waiting after escaping an alleged attack by Drawbridge through a bathroom window, she told officers of being put in a chokehold and physically assaulted by her boyfriend. During the time the officers tried searching for him in his home, the victim mentioned that he might still be in possession of multiple firearms, according to the Attorney General's office.

Upon entering Drawbridge's home, police discovered a cache of firearms paraphernalia, including an array of large capacity magazines, in the basement. Although he wasn't located on the premises, police later executed a search warrant and seized three altered rifles, with shortened barrels, and over sixty high-capacity magazines. "Investigators sought a warrant for the defendant's arrest and alerted Holden Police of the matter", the statement from Neronha's office detailed. On the following day, Drawbridge turned himself into the Johnston Police Headquarters.

As reported, and before his surrender, the defendant owned another property in Holden, Mass., where it is believed more evidence could potentially be uncovered. The pre-arraignment conference for Drawbridge has been scheduled for February 7, in Providence County Superior Court. T
