The inferno, which broke out around 9 a.m. in the 4600 block of Lake Mirror Road, sent plumes of heavy black smoke billowing into the sky, visible to passersby and nearby Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. According to Fox 5 Atlanta, approximately 50 firefighters were deployed to battle the aggressive fire, and upon their arrival, they found an individual trapped within the blazing structure, the individual was swiftly rescued and transported to the hospital for the treatment of smoke-related injuries; in the meanwhile, officials have urged the public to steer clear of the area to facilitate emergency operations.
The warehouse property, identified to be owned by La Fortuna Imports—a company specializing in a range of products from Mexico—suffered extensive damage, the extent of which is still being evaluated by fire investigators and company officials.
