The state's Department of Transportation urged caution Sunday morning with several highways north of Minneapolis, including Highways 47 and 10 reporting icy conditions, particularly Highway 47 which was slick from St. Francis up to Mille Lacs Lake, travelers should keep a vigilant eye on the 511MN map before hitting the road.
The aftermath of the snowstorm was taken toll on drivers across Minnesota, with a total of 339 crashes reported statewide from Saturday morning to Sunday morning, culminating in 36 injury-causing wrecks though luckily none were serious or fatal, while roadway mishaps included a troublesome mix of 122 spinouts and the inconvenience of five jackknifed semis as per a post by the Minnesota State Patrol.
