Having lived in Ward 1 for over three decades, Foster-Bolton is no stranger to the community she now pledges to serve. Recently emerged as a community organizer, she's taken a stand on various city concerns from affordable housing to environmental health. "Because of the organizing, I have a deep understanding of the issues facing this city," Foster-Bolton divulged to Minnetonka's official website. Joining her in earnest, Ward 3's Ramaley also springs from Minnetonka soil, her family's roots extending five generations deep. Her dedication to her heritage is palpable, with a strong drive to sustain the city for future lineages.
While her fingers are often found in the soil of her sustainable garden, Ramaley's heart is set on nurturing the community's growth. Touting more than two decades in international roles, she's looking to translate that global perspective to local governance. "I want to do my part to help ensure Minnetonka is a vibrant, sustainable, and safe community for generations to come," she said with hope, in a statement captured by Minnetonka's official news release.
Both incoming councilmembers have their swearing-in slotted for January 8, at the city council meeting, where they will serve alongside the re-elected incumbents Rebecca Schack and Kissy Coakley.
