After being reported missing in East Point, 34-year-old Lateasha Gannt has been found safe, officials confirmed Friday afternoon. Gannt, who was last seen on the 2200 block of Delowe Drive early Thursday morning, had sparked a Mattie's Call, Georgia's emergency missing alert for disabled or elderly persons. In a case that worried family and residents, authorities and family members expressed concern for her well-being due to her mental health conditions, including a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia and reported bipolar disorder.
Before Gannt was found, the East Point Police Department fervently searched for her, releasing descriptions to the public in hopes of locating her. She was last seen wearing a red long-sleeve shirt and red and white pajama pants, standing 5 feet 3 inches tall, and weighing 140 pounds, as reported by Fox5 Atlanta.
According to Atlanta News First, Gannt's family was deeply concerned, believing she might harm herself.
The authorities have canceled Mattie's Call, signifying that the search has concluded, and they thank everyone who aided in her safe return. Although the specifics of her recovery have not been disclosed.
