Gun violence reared its ugly head in Moreno Valley on Saturday evening when a person was shot and found inside a vehicle, in need of medical assistance. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department confirmed deputies sprinted to the 22800 block of Allies Place after receiving a call regarding the incident at approximately 8:08 p.m. On arrival, the first responders found a victim with gunshot wounds and immediately secured the area, while paramedics rushed to the scene to transport the individual to a local hospital with injuries fortunately assessed as non-life-threatening.
The shooting suspect, however, remained at large, slipping away into the night before law enforcement could clamp down on the scene. Investigators are now picking up the pieces, scouring the area for any lead. The Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station has taken up the mantle for this ongoing investigation, with Investigator Robert Castellanos taking point, and authorities are now calling on the public to come forth with any information or evidence that could aid the case, especially video footage that may have caught the grim tableau.
