After being dispatched immediately, Responders reached the scene by 12:09 a.m., according to the City of Mountain View's official statement.
Facing a formidable opponent, the fire reached lengths of 20 to 30 feet, challenging the firefighters who had to navigate the densely packed pallets. Making it difficult for the hoses to soak through, they needed the big guns – an aerial ladder truck, extending its hundred-foot ladder, battling the blaze from above. The site was reported as completely fires-free by 2 a.m., the City of Mountain View confirmed.
No civilian or firefighter casualties occurred despite the fierce flames. The fire department confirmed that heavy machinery from the Public Works Department played a pivotal role during the overhaul operations, ensuring the fire was put to bed unequivocally. Only by 3:45 a.m. could the crews wind down and return to their stations.
