A traffic mishap outside of Sauk Centre this past Friday left one individual wounded, authorities have reported. The incident, a chain-reaction crash involving a pickup truck, a mini-van, and a car, occurred on Highway 28 as conditions were complicated by snow-covered roads.
Elizabeth Jordan, a 22-year-old from Sauk Centre, was maneuvering her pickup truck westbound when it was struck from behind by a mini-van. The driver of the mini-van, identified as 24-year-old Nathan Ruegemer of Villard, appeared to have misjudged the distance, leading to the collision, according to Voice of Alexandria.
The impact from Ruegemer’s vehicle prompted another westbound traveler, 29-year-old Kirsten Ludolph of Staples, to crash her car into the mini-van. The Minnesota State Patrol notes the accident took place around 7:30 p.m. while Jordan was turning north onto County Road 125, as detailed by the WJON.
The aftermath saw Ludolph being transported to Sauk Centre Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the crash. Jordan and Ruegemer, the initial participants in the event, were not hurt in the crash, as per WJON.
