
Oakland is reeling from a violent weekend that claimed the lives of three individuals in separate shooting incidents, authorities confirmed. In the wake of these tragedies, the Oakland Police Department is actively seeking information and investigating the circumstances leading to these fatal outcomes.
The first incident occurred shortly after 5:45 p.m. on Saturday in the 5900 block of San Leandro Street, where officers responding to reports of gunfire found a woman with at least one bullet wound, as per KRON4. Despite efforts by Oakland firefighters to provide medical treatment at the scene, the victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital, her identity has been withheld pending the notification of her relatives. A little before 8:15 p.m. the same night, a man inflicted with gunshot wounds made it to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The shooting was at the 2900 block of Linden Street, but details of the incident remain sparse.
The violence extended into Sunday, marking the third homicide for the city in just two days. SFGate reported that at around 7:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the vicinity of 89th Avenue and Plymouth Street, where they discovered another gunshot victim. Despite life-saving attempts by officers, the individual was declared dead at the scene.
