
A male suspect was arrested for allegedly brandishing a deadly weapon and making criminal threats towards two men in Ojai, as per officials. Jacob Looker, an 18-year-old from Ojai, reportedly confronted the victims at their worksite on the 300 block of S. Padre Juan Avenue on the morning of January 17, authorities said.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Office mentions that Looker, upon spotting the victims, halted his car and challenged one of them to a fight. He allegedly approached the man with a large wrench in his hand, leading the victim to retreat. After securing the wrench, Looker left but returned shortly with a baseball bat, confronting the second victim. A bystander intervened, disarming Looker who then assaulted the victim with his fists and, once separated, he allegedly threatened to get a gun and fled the scene.
Law enforcement officers located Looker and arrested him on two counts each of brandishing a deadly weapon and making criminal threats, along with one count of battery. The deputies' investigation, later confirmed that Looker did not have access to a firearm. He was booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility with his bail set at $30,000.
The incident which caused a stir in the local community is still under investigation.
