A traffic stop in Pacifica took a dramatic turn last week when a 31-year-old man was arrested for having a loaded handgun and Fentanyl. According to a press release by the Pacifica Police Department, the incident occurred on December 29, 2023, when an officer stopped a vehicle at around 9:08 p.m. due to multiple vehicle code violations.

The driver, identified as Patrick Lefao from Antioch, was found to have several outstanding arrest warrants and was operating the vehicle on a suspended license. He was placed under arrest, and a subsequent search revealed that Lefao had a loaded gun with an extended magazine and two grams of what is suspected to be Fentanyl, both located in the same backpack.

Lefao was booked into San Mateo County Jail facing a slew of charges, including felon in possession of a firearm, carrying an unregistered handgun, concealed firearm in a vehicle, felon in possession of ammunition, and possession of a controlled substance and a loaded firearm. The Pacifica Police have charged Lefao with felonies and a misdemeanor for narcotic controlled substance possession as well as for driving with a suspended license.
