
Chaos erupted in a quiet Moreno Valley neighborhood Wednesday afternoon when a person was shot in what authorities are calling an "assault with a deadly weapon." The Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported that deputies rushed to the 16000 block of Arroyo Park Drive at around 1:14 p.m. in response to the violence, and a victim with a gunshot wound was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment, according to a statement on the Sheriff's Department website.
The assailant managed to slip away before deputies could arrive, prompting an immediate search by local law enforcement. Witnesses at the scene were interviewed, and evidence was collected in the sweeping response, however, the suspect remains at large.
Investigators from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station have taken over the case and the investigation continues to unfold. Deputy Lieutenant J. Tijerina underscored the ongoing nature of the probe, indicating that no further details would be released at present.
