Plymouth's finest had a frosty run-in with some juvenile daredevils taking the 'polar plunge' on White Horse Beach yesterday. According to the Plymouth Police Department's Facebook page, the officers were called in to check out a complaint about four youngsters who were playing volleyball by the condos, getting a bit too physical, and disturbing the peace with their “barking” sounds.
By the time the cops arrived, the shivering quartet had already ditched the scene, diving into the chilly waters before high-tailing it back home. One of the boys was found in his yard by the authorities while the rest were already "chillin' with their Mom," a little wet behind the ears but otherwise none the worse for wear. Mom, playing the universal guardian's role, duly issued a spirited defense of her sons: "My boys are angels…. They have been on the rock all day, they would never do that…" as reported in Plymouth Police Department's Facebook post.
The encounter was captured in a snapshot by reporter Ken Grille Photography, providing a chilling visual of the seaside escapade. The police seemed to take the minor beach disturbance in stride. An officer, opting for a neighborly approach rather than a stern reprimand, had a simple request, "OK Ma’am just have 'em' keep it down."
