Flames were seen bursting from the windows of a ground-level condo in Rancho Santa Margarita before noon on Sunday, triggering a swift response from emergency services. The Orange County Fire Authority reported that the blaze began in a unit of a two-story condominium complex on Via Solaz and spread to the floor above. The call to 911 was placed at 11:31 a.m., and firefighters rushed to tackle the rapidly growing fire.
The team of firefighters found the fire had already begun to lick the exterior of the unit directly above the source. In a bid to ensure safety, deputies from the Orange County Sheriff's Department Rancho Santa Margarita Station started to swiftly evacuate residents in harm's way. Firefighters managed to quickly extinguish the flames downstairs within 10 minutes, preventing further damage to the rest of the building, OCFireAuthority tweeted.

No injuries were reported from the incident, and firefighters were not just battling flames but also managed to rescue a life. A cat was discovered hiding under a bed in a smoke-filled room upstairs and was safely removed from the premises. The cat has since been reunited with its grateful family.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with fire officials still piecing together how the inferno managed to start. The Orange County Fire Authority's statement emphasized that the fire was quickly contained, highlighting the effectiveness of the rapid response even under pressure to instantly protect lives and property.
