A woman has found herself on the wrong side of the law again after deputies caught her allegedly trying to make off with merchandise from a Walmart in Kuykendahl Road. Shanelle Holland was slapped with a criminal trespass charge after she was detained on January 6, according to authorities.
Holland was no stranger to the location, having been handed a criminal trespass warning for a previous theft incident. Deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to the store and managed to locate the suspect. Upon her detention, it was clear that a previous warning had been cast aside as she allegedly attempted to pilfer goods from the store once more.
The woman's not-so-successful shopping spree ended with her arrest and a subsequent booking into the Harris County Jail. Her attempt at five-finger discounts has landed her a bond set at $500 out of County Court 8. "Shanelle Holland was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Criminal Trespass," as per the Constable's facebook post.
Repeat offenders often face a tougher time convincing judges of their innocence, and it appears that Holland's past has followed her into the present. The bond reflects the court's position on such crimes, sending a message that even seemingly petty theft is not taken lightly. Shoplifting has long been an unwelcome thorn in the side of retailers, and cases like Holland's are all too familiar in the eyes of the law.
