
The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office is reaching out to the public in search of Donald McClarence, a 41-year-old man missing since Thanksgiving week. McClarence, a Black man approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds, was last known to be at 1400 General Arts Road in Conyers. Distinguishing features include his bald head, brown eyes, and a scar from the middle of his neck to his back, along with tattoos - "MOM", a large cross, "BRO R.I.P." on his left arm, and a tribal design on his back, as Atlanta News First reported.
McClarence, who is still unaccounted for had mentioned plans to visit his sister in New York during his last known conversation with her, his sister's name and specifics of their conversation haven't been disclosed by officials yet but the concern for his safety is mounting as days pass since his last sighting. In an effort to gather any leads, Investigator Grate Levett of the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office urges anyone with information on McClarence's location to come forward by contacting him directly at (770) 278-8166 or via email at [email protected].
Meanwhile, turmoil struck the Summergrove area as an altercation over a stolen handgun escalated into a shootout, according to The Times-Herald. The January 21 incident involved several men and resulted in bullets striking four houses, two cars, and a mailbox, thankfully no injuries were reported. The Newnan Police Department apprehended three men and charged them with aggravated assault following the incident, marking a prompt response to the public disquiet caused by the gunfire.
The investigation drew on the combined efforts of the Newnan Police Department detectives and the Crime Scene Unit, who responded to the scene near 54 Greenview Drive in Newnan treating the case with diligence and a keen eye for the details necessary to piece together the events leading up to the shooting. The quick arrest of the suspects serves as a testament to the efficiency and collaborative spirit within the law enforcement community, the names of the suspects and further details on the charges they face haven't been revealed in initial reports as the situation is still developing and more information will likely emerge following the legal proceedings.
