The search for 79-year-old John Passwaters came to a close as authorities canceled a Silver Alert after confirming he had been found. The Round Rock Police Department had been on the lookout for Passwaters, known to suffer from a cognitive impairment, after his last sighting on Monday evening in Caldwell.
Before authorities discontinued the search, details of Passwaters' last known whereabouts had been made public. He was seen at approximately 5:11 p.m. at 1515 W. Highway 21 in his beige 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, notable for its red-painted cracked driver's side mirror. Passwaters matched the description of a white man at 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes, last dressed in a gray Nike sweater, blue jeans, and blue tennis shoes, as per KVUE.
Luckily, the situation reached a positive resolution when the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed on Tuesday morning that the Silver Alert was no longer active due to Passwaters being found. Round Rock Police had been on the search since his initial disappearance, as reported by KXAN.
