Tragedy has struck twice for the families of a young Texas couple, as a pregnant teenager, Savanah Nicole Soto, and her boyfriend, Matthew Guerra, were found murdered shortly before Christmas. The couple, reportedly involved in narcotics sales, were discovered shot to death in Guerra's vehicle on Dec. 26. Arrests were made following the grim discovery, with a father-and-son duo now facing serious charges relating to the deaths.

According to a report by Fox San Antonio, the bodies of Soto, 18, and Guerra, 21, were found in a gray Kia Optima after the family reported Soto missing. She was meant to be induced at the hospital on Dec. 23, a day after her disappearance. Christopher Preciado, 19, is slapped with capital murder charges, and his father, Ramon Preciado, 53, is charged with abuse of a corpse for reportedly helping move the bodies post-mortem.

In a statement obtained by CBS News, San Antonio police disclosed that both father and son were charged with altering, destroying, and concealing evidence. It's noted that the elder Preciado has been cooperating with the investigation.

Amidst shared mourning, further insights emerge as the couple's preparedness for their unborn son Fabian is revealed. Their nursery, decorated and awaiting a new life with ultrasound photos by the crib, now remains an empty promise of what could have been. "I came across Fabian's gloves and it brought back talks me and Matt had about the different sports he was going to be in so you know, this one hurts," Gabriel Guerra said, according to an interview with KENS-TV

Jordan Cordova tells KENS-TV about his struggle to comprehend the senseless nature of the crime that also claimed his unborn nephew. Previously victimized by the murder of another sibling, the family endured compounded tragedies. "My nephew Fabian, his mom, and his dad, they're all gone over marijuana?," said a confounded Cordova.

Soto and Guerra will be laid to rest in separate ceremonies. Matthew Guerra's funeral services are being held at Mission Park Funeral Chapel with burial at San Jose Burial Park.
