A San Bernardino man found himself behind bars this week after allegedly pointing a gun at a Grand Terrace establishment employee. The incident, said to have occurred in the early afternoon on January 13, has left the community on edge.
Authorities were called to the JC Wallace House on Barton Road following reports that a man, later identified as 23-year-old Anthony Lamont Jones, had brandished a firearm. According to the San Bernardino Sheriff-Coroner Department, Jones confronted a victim, whose identity has been withheld, allegedly pointing a gun at them during an altercation. Insiders speculate that Jones, who was dating another employee of JC Wallace House, believed the victim had been speaking ill of him.
Detectives have since served a warrant at Jones' residence, where they discovered evidence bolstering the allegations against him. Following the subsequent investigation, Jones was apprehended and booked for assault with a firearm, as confirmed by a public report from the sheriff's department. He is now facing charges under PC 245(a)(2), waiting to find out what his fate will be from the confines of the Central Detention Center.
