In a late-night bust, San Mateo County Sheriff's Deputies nabbed a suspected burglar after a stolen vehicle tied him to a commercial break-in, authorities reported. The arrest of Chris Nguyen, born September 21, 1989, followed a high-tech interception on January 14, when a Flock camera system flagged a vehicle stolen in a window smash burglary.
The deputies converged on East Millbrae Avenue and Rollins Road after receiving the alert around 11:13 PM, swiftly locating the vehicle and detaining Nguyen, who was alone in the driver’s seat, though the initial lead came through an automated system, it was the rapid response and confirmation of the vehicle’s unlawful status that led to the successful detainment.
Further evidence obtained during a comprehensive investigation linked Nguyen directly to the theft of the van. He was subsequently arrested a few miles north of the scene in Millbrae. The San Mateo Sheriff's Office released the information in a Facebook post, noting Nguyen's subsequent booking into the Maguire Correctional Facility.
