In a decisive clench on drug trafficking in Santa Rosa, the local police department's narcotics detectives have apprehended 25-year-old resident Christopher Mejia, who is believed to be part of a drug trafficking organization distributing fentanyl. The arrest took place on January 30th when Mejia was found in his trailer on Santa Rosa Avenue.
Law enforcement officers were able to quickly and safely detain Mejia at around 11:56 AM, pursuant to a search warrant. The subsequent search of his trailer was to uncover a trove of illegal substances. Approximately one thousand suspected fentanyl pills were found, alongside a digital scale and packaging materials, hinting at a substantial drug distribution operation.
The police's thorough investigation did not end at Mejia's trailer. Another search warrant was executed at a related residence on Ripley Street. There, detectives discovered something equally telling – around $12,000 in cash, suspected earnings from the illicit drug trade.
Following these discoveries, Mejia was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail under the accusation of possession of a narcotic for sale, a violation of section 11351 of the Health and Safety Code. Santa Rosa Police Department highlighted the arrest on their official Facebook page, confirming Mejia's bail had been set at a hefty $250,000.
The case against the accused now accumulates as he faces the legal system. The operation reflects a continued commitment by Santa Rosa law enforcement to target and dismantle DTOs that threaten the safety and well-being of its citizens.
