
UPDATE: Cura Washington, an at-risk missing person who was last seen on December 31 has been found safe and unharmed in the city of Los Angeles by Los Angeles Police Department officers. She has now been reunited with her family.
She was reported missing by her grandmother on Jan. 1, 2024, at 1:30 a.m., nearly four hours after Washington was last seen.
In their bid to find Cura, the police have sketched out her description: a Black female, age 11, standing 5 feet tall, and weighing 100 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes, wearing a burgundy sweatsuit. The department has not listed any medical alerts or distinctive marks that could help in her identification.
The Long Beach Police castedt a wide net, requesting any information that might lead to Cura Washington's safe return. They urge anyone with knowledge to reach out to the LBPD Missing Persons Detail at (562) 570-7246 or to contact Police Dispatch at (562) 435-6711.
