
A fiery collision involving an 18-wheeler and a sedan caused traffic chaos and sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries in North Austin, authorities said Thursday.

The chaos unfolded near Parmer Lane on the 11900 block of North Interstate 35 southbound service road around 9:42 a.m. when a car found itself under the massive truck. The Austin Fire Department (AFD) and Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS), raced to the scene where they found vehicles in flames, according to KVUE.
AFD confirmed that the crash did not require a vehicle rescue, stating that "all of the occupants were out of the vehicles." The response teams tackled the blaze, successfully extinguishing the vehicular inferno as ATCEMS medics began evaluating victims on the scene, as per ATCEMS.
