What sounds like a plot out of a quirky heist movie has unfortunately turned into a real-life dilemma for Cody Inman. Detectives are on the lookout for a stolen "tiny home," originally parked in Kramer Junction, now missing and feared to have been hauled off by yet-to-be-identified bandits. According to authorities, the premanufactured dwelling, valued at over $250,000, was left on a six-axle flatbed trailer during a journey up north, meeting its unknown fate between September 18, 2023, and October 5, 2023.
This unusual case of grand theft auto emerged when the transport company returned to collect the miniature abode, only to find a space where the home once stood. This incident has triggered a call for public assistance in tracking down the portable property. "It is believed unknown suspects hooked the home up to a vehicle and drove away with it," relayed the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department in a statement released on January 9th, 2024.
The official press release details the specifics of case number 182301329, with hopes that it will prompt someone to provide a lead. In the meantime, the citizens of Kramer Junction and the larger San Bernardino County area watch on, hoping for the safe return of Cody Inman's tiny home.
Through their investigation, law enforcement has yet to zero in on the culprits or locate the whereabouts of the tiny home. Detective B. Mahoney, who is actively working on the case is urging anyone with information to step forward. A plea has been made directly to the community for anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Barstow Station at 760-256-4838.
