 The guise of a smoke alarm saved six residents from a potential blaze in Mission Viejo's assisted living home. In the pre-dawn hours, a vigilant caretaker sprung into action when the alarm's shrill warning cut through the silence, and smoke was detected, allowing him to lead all six individuals to safety before fire crews arrived. The incident, which unfolded in the 26000 block of Carmenita, was met with a swift and fortuitous response that averted tragedy.

According to the Orange County Fire Authority's X report, the call came in at the stark hour of 4:35 a.m., their teams arrived expeditiously to quell the sudden fire, which originated in a garag.

 

 

While the fire was quickly extinguished, preventing the spread to the main living quarters, medical evaluations of the residents immediately took place. It was found that only one sustained an injury, a laceration to the head,
