
Two individuals from Stockton, CA, found themselves in cuffs on New Year's Eve in Pacifica after a cop patrolling the area of Crespi Drive and State Route 1 spotted a maroon Honda that was reported stolen. Pacifica police said that the officer followed the car into the Linda Mar Shopping Center and performed a felony traffic stop with the backup of several other officers. The suspects, 25-year-old Anthony Vasquez and 23-year-old Juliana Garza, were detained without trouble, per the Pacifica Police Department.
Pacifica law enforcement confirmed that the vehicle had been hijacked in Stockton on December 30, 2023. Following an investigation, Vasquez and Garza were slapped with charges for violation of 496(D)(A) CVC - Possession of Stolen Vehicle, the duo was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on said charges.
The lifted Honda was eventually returned to its rightful owner. As the case continues, police urge anyone with information to step forward.
