In an effort to positively influence the youth of Roxbury, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department’s Choice Program recently made a stop at the Samuel W. Mason Pilot Elementary School. Officers took the time to educate students on making prudent decisions and embracing their roles in the community. The initiative is part of the department's ongoing outreach to instill responsible behavior in youngsters.

During their visit, law enforcement professionals engaged with eager students, providing guidance on how to contribute to a healthier neighborhood. They encouraged them to actively participate in their localities, to not only better themselves but also to uplift their communities. The event signified the department's commitment to prevent young people from veering down a path that could lead to encounters with the criminal justice system.

Gratitude was expressed to the Mason School’s staff for the collaboration. "Special thanks to Principal Allston for having us in, Family Liaison Ms. West for sharing our information, and Ms. Russo for inviting us," the department posted on their official Facebook page. The partnership highlights the importance the Sheriff's Department places on educational institutions in the fight against delinquency.
