In an intense manhunt that spanned multiple jurisdictions, police have nabbed the suspect in a brutal daylight killing at a Marietta apartment complex. Cops say Donovan Carter, a Gwinnett County man, is the alleged gunman behind the fatal shots that claimed the life of Kenneth Cunningham II on Wednesday.
Officers were called to the Harlow Apartments at 10:30 a.m. and discovered Cunningham, 40, riddled with bullets, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. After a swift investigation, which included the relentless pursuit by police, Carter, 33, was stopped by Gwinnett County Police and taken into custody later that night.
Carter now faces a slew of charges including aggravated assault, murder during the commission of a felony, malice murder, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, as he sits in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. Cunningham, who was a resident of the Harlow Apartments where the shooting took place, was found near the apartment complex office with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
