
A grim scene unfolded in San Clemente as deputies arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing an 18-year-old. The incident, which took a young life, occurred early Saturday morning and quickly led to the suspect's arrest on murder charges.
Deputies responded to a stabbing report at 12:17 a.m. on Jan. 20 in the area of the 2000 block of Avenida Del Presidente. Upon arrival, they found the victim, administered lifesaving attempts, and the Orange County Fire Authority quickly rushed him to hospital. The unnamed male suffered a stab wound to the groin and unfortunately, despite medical efforts, was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
In a quick turn of events, the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Joshua Guadalupe Garcia of Santa Ana by the Sheriff's Department, was located and arrested later that same day. A knife was discovered and seized; forensic tests are pending to confirm if it is the murder weapon.
The motive behind the brutal attack and the relationship between Garcia and the victim are subjects still shrouded in mystery and under active investigation.
