The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office is on the hunt for an individual accused of vandalizing the Old Tarrant County Courthouse. In an incident, caught on security footage, the suspect was seen hurling a rock through a window of the building shortly after the clock struck midnight on Monday. The man made his approach up the west steps before launching the rock right-handedly at the courthouse door, as reported by NBC DFW.
In the surveillance video, the suspect, seen with a red box and a cigarette in his left hand, appears to quickly make his escape in an unidentified direction after the act. The broken window in question adorned the door of the courthouse, a structure dating back to 1895. Despite the clear footage, investigators have yet to release any further videos that could shed light on either the man's origin or where he headed after the act was committed, as per NBC DFW.
The sheriff's office described the suspect as a Black male wearing a red hat, adorned with a black jacket, black pants, and black boots. Authorities are calling on the public to assist in identifying the suspect. Detective Soria has been assigned to the case and is actively seeking tips that may lead to apprehension. Those with information can reach out to Detective Soria at 817-884-1271 or connect through email at [email protected], as stated by the Irving Weekly.
