Three individuals connected to a December robbery have been nabbed by the long arm of the law in Ontario after evading capture for weeks, authorities said. The trio was arrested on Thursday at around 3:30 p.m. after officers from the Ontario Police Department located the vehicle used during the initial robbery.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, the identified suspects include Crystal Hedges, 29, Joseph Hartsch, 48, and Charles Rushing, 51, all residents of San Bernardino. The incident in question occurred on December 31st when these individuals allegedly used bolt cutters to break into a secured cage at a business on Valley Boulevard and threatened an employee before fleeing the scene.
Deputies were able to single out the stolen vehicle, and a judge issued an arrest warrant for Hedges, the San Bernardino woman they identified as involved in the crime. When Ontario police stopped the vehicle last week, Hedges was behind the wheel and was arrested not only for her outstanding warrant but also for several others. Hartsch and Rushing were found to be her accomplices and were arrested as well.
Police found evidence linking the men to the robberies during the stop, leading to their arrest, and detention at the West Valley Detention Center for robbery charges. A fourth individual was also arrested for unrelated warrants. "Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Fontana Sheriff’s Station," stated the press release.
Further details on the case have not been publicly disclosed as of yet, and anyone with insights into the robbery has been encouraged to reach out to the Fontana Sheriff's Station or leave information anonymously via the We-Tip website. With the arrest of these suspects, the authorities are hopeful that any further information from the public will help close this case effectively and ensure justice is served.
