
A routine Sunday afternoon in Granada Hills was abruptly disrupted when a vehicle crashed into a residential home. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the collision occurred at approximately 3:02 p.m. on the 21st of January, at 17350 W Westbury Drive. The LAFD alert stated that a solo vehicle careened into the garage area of a one-story home, causing substantial structural damage to the property.
The incident, which did not result in any entrapment, left two adult females with minor injuries. They were shortly after to be transported to a nearby hospital by LAFD ambulance, both in good condition. LAPD's Valley Traffic Division and the Department of Building & Safety were promptly notified, with the latter's inspector's estimated time of arrival remaining unannounced. An Urban Search and Rescue crew was also dispatched to assess and possibly stabilize the damaged structure.
No other injuries were reported following the crash. The house, listed as having a square footage of 2,526, will be under close observation to evaluate the extent of the damage and to ensure the safety of the surrounding area. The authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the accident or the identities of those involved.
Brian Humphrey, a spokesperson for LAFD, conveyed details of the incident, including the dispatch of units such as E289, E87, E89, RA828, and T89. According to Humphrey, "Solo vehicle into the garage area of a 2,526 square foot one-story home, causing significant structural damage." Inquiries related to the incident are being directed to both the LAPD Valley Traffic Division (Incident #2435) and the Department of Building & Safety, which is involved in the ensuing structural integrity investigation.
