
In the pre-dawn darkness of Hollywood, a fierce blaze engulfed a single-family home on Cherokee Avenue, prompting a massive response from Los Angeles firefighters. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the incident, tagged as INC#0127, was a Greater Alarm Structure Fire that started around 3:00 AM at 1337 N Cherokee Av. Heavy smoke was seen billowing from the building by the first responders at the scene, as noted on the LAFD website.
According to the LAFD, the situation escalated when firefighters discovered two adult males trapped behind a security gate within the burning structure. Using forcible entry tools, firefighters managed to rescue the individuals, one of whom was listed in critical condition, the other in grave condition, and transport them to a local hospital for treatment. Amidst the chaos, a flashover occurred, injuring one firefighter with burns on his ears, the entire engine company present during the flashover was taken to the hospital for observation. The fire was ultimately subdued after an intensive 31-minute effort by 48 firefighters who worked to access, confine, and extinguish the roaring flames.
